Luckey Spirits

Luckey Spirits is owned and operated by a husband-wife team who were inspired by Bavarian relatives’ tradition of small scale distillation of fruit brandies. Not quite ready to quit their day jobs, Fred was an environmental scientist working on Great Lakes ecosystem issues and Flo is an award-winning brand communications designer. They saw this project as a way to get in touch with nature’s cycles and help revive rural traditions of farm distilling. Pruning the orchard in winter is one way to ensure a good crop. The Luckey’s interests outside of work include Argentine tango, bee-keeping, kayaking, and travel. Their bees help to ensure good fruit harvests.
